Okay so both #MySummerCar and #thelongdrive are on a specific range of #Unity #unity3d #unityengine builds that have a bug where some steering wheels will only half work - Quite literally, it thinks the entire range of rotation from -1.0 to 1.0 is from Top Dead Center through to the far right turn.

God I hate that. Two games I love, and neither works with my steering wheel. :(

Anyone know any fixes?

(It's a Microsoft Sidewinder FFB - The first FFB wheel ever)

jstest-gtk does show the full range of motion, as well as other games working just fine with it, which rules out hardware, fwiw.

@SilverEagle I think #TheDamageIsDone and #IndieDevs have chosen to not trust #Unity3D when @godotengine is a feasible option for them and everyone else is treating them better...

I mean, there's a reason @defold got built (at least in part) by big #publishers because they don't want suck up yet another #PriceHike on their #Enterprise plans...

Not to mention more and more folks started with the whole @Blender / #blender + #GodotEngine / #Defold / ... tech stack and the big advantage #UnityEngine had - it's integrated and easily accessible #AssetStore - is waning.

As if #unityengine didn't already have enough issues with their #runtimefee debacle, now they're changing the versioning scheme... AGAIN??? It's already tremendously confusing to know which packages are supported for which engine version, and now it's going to be even more confusing!!! I'm wondering if they're deliberately trying to pick a fight with developers or they're just clueless. It feels like a strange distopia... Luckily, #godotengine is on the rise. Maybe it's for the best.

Last night, I wanted to show off my little dice rolling tool I made in Unity a few years ago. But I made it before switching to Linux, so all I had was a Windows build.

Now, apparently Unity on Windows defaults to DirectX 11. "No problem!" I thought, and installed DXVK. And then the penny dropped...

My laptop is so old, that it doesn't even support Vulkan properly. :drgn_flat_x_x:

And I never noticed this, because I only ever ran DirectX 9 games through Gallium Nine.

Well, another reason to continue the conversion to Godot...
