I just remembered the HQ9+ compiler I made 1088 days ago. Reading through the README, I'm shocked at how well written it is and how actually funny I came across.
Maybe sleeping 10 minutes every day was the key to making good jokes.
Just published our new wiki for anyone looking to #migrate from another instance.

Anyone have an decent alternative app? #grapheneos #foss #floss
Been tinkering with a small terminal agent that runs offline using ollama and can do simple stuff like open sites, search, chat, and run commands. It’s themed as an anime maid because it seems cute.
The ASCII art I’m using right now is kinda plain, though, so if anyone’s up for making it cuter, I’d really appreciate it. Contributions are most welcome.

#tfw you discover a bug in @thunderbird beta which is impacting you on the regular, and you go to file a bug report about it, and you put a substantial amount of time into testing the bug in various contexts to ensure you are providing useful information for the developers, and then the last thing you do is attempt to bisect the bug with #mozregression, and you discover that it's been fixed in the current nightly build but the fix hasn't been uplifted to beta yet. *sigh*

We had a leak that allowed unauthorized access to some internal systems and downloading LTS release stuff that we keep available only to customers to keep the "pay for binaries" business model viable.
Some "community members" used that to download and publish that LTS stuff, and none of them reported the security incident to us.
If the "community" just wants freebies and will not stop short of intentionally exploiting a vulnerability to get those — the project's ability to stay afloat and keep contributing to our upstreams be damned — why should I even care?
SoundThread is a new GUI tool, a front-end to CDP8 (a sound design library of tools, used by many big artists, like #AphexTwin). If you're into sound design (which is different than using synth plugins), definitely give this a try: https://github.com/j-p-higgins/SoundThread
#FrOSCon2025 #froscon #FOSS #OpenSource #Mastodon #Fediverse

I love #foss. With all the enshitification going on in comercial software and services it feels like it's the exact opposite. It just gets better every time. I enjoy updating because I get cool new stuff everytime and no company is taking anything away just because they feel like its not worth it anymore.
