#Watching The Internship (2013) reminds me how tectonically the narratives around corporate tech have changed in the last decade. I doubt you couldn sell an aspirational story about interning at Goggle now.
We did that. All of us. Working *together*.
We live in a fantastic, abundant era yet suffer from global headlines with profoundly misguided/misaligned attitudes.
This applies to social tech, LLMs, and all the technologies that shape our global society, today.
We need to stop handing over the global microphones to those whose survival and livelihood are rooted in the continuation of using aggressive algorithms and full fledged LLMs just for entertainment purposes.

@cpkimber #Edupunk is a movement in #elearning and #instructionaldesign to look at the paths that were not taken in history, retracing our steps to see if there are better ways forward if we proceed with a #lowtech, #humanetech, #FOSS ethos rather than following the dictates of market capitalism. I think of #solarpunk as a challenge to do that with science as well..

@evan And if there is any platform that should center #HumaneTech and #Calmtech versus the more toxic and intense and addictive choices commercial siloes do to drive ad clicks, etc, it should be us. In theory, the non-commercial elements of the Fediverse should have no other incentive but a healthier online space.
