All is not lost.

We do still have options, good choices we can make that will lead to a better – or at least less disastrous – future.

Imagine being surrounded by lush natural landscapes, buildings covered with verdant plants and vegetation complete with rooftop gardens, and cities that are completely powered by clean energy. Imagine having our technologies built in harmony with nature and shared equally with everyone on the planet. This is what our world should look like as envisioned by the solarpunk movement.

‘Ticking timebomb’: #sea acidity has reached critical levels, threatening entire #ecosystems
#OceanAcidification has crossed a crucial threshold for planetary health, scientists say.
Ocean acidification, called "evil twin" of #climatecrisis, is caused when #carbondioxide is absorbed by ocean, where it reacts with water molecules leading to a fall in #pH of #seawater. It damages #coral #reefs and other #ocean habitats and, in extreme cases, can dissolve the shells.

There is little opposition to removing the dams on the Snake, even in Idaho, and the region is poised to support robust salmon protection. Lynda Mapes is among a handful of reporters at the Seattle Times not dominated by real estate industry fantasies.

Ford’s Bill C-5 is a danger to democracy.
Ontario needs to speak up. It makes
“special economic zones” where businesses can break provincial laws & it’s a free for all to ignore all protections including human rights, workplace safety, environmental regulations, disregard endangered species. They want to fast forward new mines & landfills & skip impact assessments & pushing thru projects that will harm Indigenous communities.

..we hear about how a tornado impacted the Black community of St. Louis, which already suffered as a result of decades of destructive public policy. But first, we discuss Palestine solidarity and the Global March to Gaza with a South African activist

Entry to #LaBiennale at Arsenale, #Venice: reverse air conditioners blast no cool - just heat. A brutal welcome to Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective. Architecture no longer just shelters - it must adapt to a world on fire. This is not mitigation. It’s survival.

We're 'at risk of betting the farm on unsustainable projects and creating even more economic chaos for the future', not to mention 'the very building blocks and sustainers of life itself — water, air, forests, oceans, the ability to grow food'

'How is it that we can be at this point in history where we know without a doubt what the impacts of climate change are — and yet our governments seem prepared to invest [in] the very same industrial development schemes that created the problem in the first place?'
