I think I found a clean solution to assemble the two LEDs at the front grill of my #NeXTcube mini. It's a tiny custom #PCB holding the LEDs with two JST sockets, which will be wired up directly to the #RaspberryPi #GPIO ports.
Well, it doesn't look that good. Fortunately I had aborted very early. Now a bit cleaning for the next try.
In a couple of minutes there will arrive something for some of you...
This is quite awesome! Just gave #ChatGPT a photo of a pcb and requested the components and wiring. This is the result (I have to check it).

This book is a real gem. It's made with so much love.
From the twitter archives:
The famous NeXT computer brochure.
You can find it scanned here:

"Integrated fax capabilities accessible from all applications"
Digital access to fax was such a huge deal in the 90s, it's really hard to comprehend today.
(e.g. I gave in and bought my first mobile phone primarily because I could use it as a wireless portable fax, and wanted that feature enough.)
Does anyone has successfully compiled the Previous emulator on #Debian for RPi?
I’m using this documentation:
http://previous.alternative-system.com/index.php/build
Executing:
cd previous-code
./configure
make
the `make` produces this error:

Any suggestions?
The stickers for my #NeXT #MegaPixel mini display arrived today. And I think they came out really pretty, huh?
Does anybody know if there are technical drawings of the #NeXTstation case (and other devices, too) available?
For those interested in my #NeXTcube mini and the #MegaPixel Display: I invite you to join me in my Slack workspace. Here, questions are answered or things discussed more quickly. So if you like, come in and spread the word...

Thinking of finally disposing of my NeXT cube, simply because the CRT takes up too much room. I haven't powered it up in a long time.
This is the NeXT computer. Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau used it at CERN to set up the first web server, id Software developed games like Doom and Quake on it, and at Slovenian daily newspaper Delo they used it to digitize the entire newspaper production process.
Does anybody know if this film is available in better quality, too? It's so sad…
Interessanter Vortrag von Steve Jobs vor Studenten der „Sloan School of Management“.
In the museum, we also have a well-preserved box containing the NeXTSTEP 3.1 operating system and its documentation.
Originally developed for NeXT workstations, version 3.1 was the first to support the i386 architecture.
