A stroll through the tiny #village of #Roßbach, part of #Naumburg, for #TrainTrackTuesday. It belongs to Germany's northernmost wine-growing region, Saale-Unstrut, by the way. (Global warming: "One of the northernmost wine regions in Europe? D'uh. Hold my wine glass!")

We weren't there for the wine though, but for a birthday party.

This week's #TrainTrackTuesday features the village of #Tarmstedt. I just had to stop here during our cycling tour to take photos and lost my family. 😂 Of course I took a wrong turn and had to retrace my, uh, steps. Well, worth it. 😊

For #TrainTrackTuesday, I've got the #Handelshafen, "commerce port", in #Magdeburg again. I posted a close-up of the #building's fire escape in the background last week. You can explore some old trains and ships, but the #trainTracks are no longer in use. The area is not completely dead though, there are offices and a cool beach café/bar (with real sand!) on the other side of the port, with the Elbe river very close too.

A basic fact of thermodynamics is coming to haunt every foot of #traintrack in the #UnitedStates. Heat makes #steel expand, moving its molecules farther apart, and as hot days become hotter and more frequent, rail lines are at risk of warping and buckling more often, #roads, #powerlines, and even batteries are in danger.
