U.S. Sen. Alex Padilla was forcibly removed from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's press conference in Los Angeles earlier today. "I am Sen. Alex Padilla. I have questions for the secretary," said the Democrat from California, who was then pushed from the room by several men, some of whom were wearing plain clothes. Video shared with NBC News shows Padilla being taken to a hallway, pushed face forward onto the ground, and then cuffed by officers wearing vests that identified them as FBI. Here's more.
"I am Sen. Alex Padilla. I have questions for the secretary," Padilla said to Noem, which prompted several men to physically push him out of the room. It was unclear who the men were, as several were dressed in plainclothes.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security on Tuesday said it has deported more than 500 people and arrested more than 400 suspected undocumented immigrants as part of a weeklong operation in the Houston area.
A 20-year-old man from El Salvador who says he has permission to work in the U.S. has been released on bond after he was arrested at a Houston-area job site and detained for nearly a month. ICE accuses him of being in the country illegally.
