As there are more Organizations than WOSM (think WAGGGS …), I rather suggest #ScoutMovement than #Scout or #Scouting or #Scouts
Re. Scout Movement. I've found almost nothing on fediverse about the world wide scouts youth movement. Maybe the first fix for that is agreeing on a hashtag. #scouts and #scouting seem to have a lot of sports recruiting posts. I don't think we should use a version of "boy scouts" since it's just inaccurate. Our common organisation is World Organization of the Scout Movement who use the abbreviation #WOSM so maybe #WOSMScout or something? Any ideas fediverse? @sindum
A great thing about being away for a week at BSA summer camp & your phone provider has terrible coverage is that you have no idea what is going on in the world & you are only focused on making sure your troop is having a good time & that you make it to the camp store before they run out of ice cream that day. It's a really wonderful existence. Yes it can be hot, buggy, & rainy & you end up walking 8 to 10 miles a day but it sure is good mentally. #camping #outdoors #bsa #scouting #mentalhealth

So, the story is, there is a troop here in town that (did? does?) annual long range bicycle tours -- up and down the California coast, usually. It was the "High Adventure"/Summer "Long Term" activity for the troop. They were known as the "bicycling Boy Scout troop". The troop I worked with was known as the "backpacking Boy Scout troop". I was actually wearing a troop Long Term shirt while purchasing this, but I guess the guy I bought it from didn't read the shirt, LOL....
So, my theory is this bicycle was ridden exactly two times, in 2005 and 2008 (plus any training rides) by the father going on the tour... And then has mouldered in the garage since then.

Ha! I see I know the story behind this bicycle. Which I suspect has not been ridden since 2008, on a Boy Scout bicycle ride. The list of riders on the jacket here includes one of the ham radio guys I know here too. We are a small town, even if we are not so small. #scouting

We staan thuis voor de deur, maar wachten nog maar even met uitpakken en naar binnen gaan 
Aaaah wat heerlijk, het rustieke getik van regen op je tent.
En elke morgen het gekwinkeleer van vogeltjes.
Wel jammer dat de vogels je al zo vroeg wekken, na gezellige avondjes bij het vuur.
Gelukkig bestaan er oordopjes. Ook goed tegen gesnurk van tent- en kampgenoten!
Ronduit vervelend is dat de regen blijft, en we dus alles nat moeten inpakken...
We hebben smakelijk gegeten en lusten niks meer, we zijn aardig aangedikt en voor de afwas ook ongeschikt!
We hadden speenvarken van het vuur en voor de vega's een bloemkoolsteak!

I’ve not been around much. My dad passed away a month ago and I’m still feeling a little raw.
Unfortunately, as I was the sole leader on camp, and the only holder of a nights away permit, I’ve had to cancel our camp weekend.
I just don’t have the head to think about, plan, organise, run and enjoy the experience.
It’s a shame, and the Cubs are disappointed. But, as the parents have rightly said, I need to put myself first at this time. We can camp again next year.
It’s been tough enough concentrating on work!
So, if you’ve wondered where I’ve been; that’s it.
Dear #embroidery fediverse, I recently got the genius/stupid idea to use my embroidery machine to stitch #scouting badges. It was quite clear to me that alignment would be crucial — and I guess that I was right. Any idea how to improve this (frame or stitching type)? (More photos in my next toot!)
