Found my old #Palm Treo 650 phone and it still works. 640x480 camera images and video on it of our dear departed cat. Even has Real player on it. Yep that's how old it is. #VintageTech #PalmTreo

This week in “projects I don’t have time for” is Mum’s Remington Portable #2 typewriter, manufactured January 1927 (17 years older than Mum!). I learned to type on this machine in the late 1970s. It’s very dusty inside because the lid has been misplaced (it’s somewhere in the house), but probably not beyond my ability to restore.
I'm setting my room on fire at the convention!

My newly dual-headed Atari 520ST system.
I've had this 520STm 4MB color setup for some years now, but recently expanded it, as I had long been wanting to.
I've just added an SM124 (very sharp) monochrome 72Hz 640x400 display (switching between it and the SC1224 RGB display with a MonitorMaster switchbox that I acquired new about 10 years ago for this eventual purpose). I also have just added an ACSI2STM SD card-based HD emulator.
The stand is an A520 STation, which is a fairly rare item (I've never seen another in use).
This is a very satisfying video showing the repair and revitalization process done on this vintage 40+ year old 9-inch CRT display.

Great Valley Products was to the Amiga as Applied Engineering was to the Apple II.
(And, at the very end, AE started releasing some Amiga hardware, in fact.)
