With #Solid project you saw a "Just create intricate #LinkedData specs, omit appealing to dev community, target biz directly. And broad adoption will come".
With #ActivityPub we saw "Let's have these initial specs be the basis, and throw it into this grassroots ecosystem, and vNext will rise from that".
#DAT project saw cryptography and compsci experts going deep in the tech, without considering how it would be adopted, implicit "code it and they will come".
Etcetera.
#Solid und Pod-Test abgebrochen . Immer noch der selbe sh… wie vor 5 Jahren . Neu, Nextcloud Solid-App war jetzt mein Provider. Weil ich mich noch erinnern konnte, ging bisschen was.
Die Idee ist super aber die Umsetzung ist mehr als schlimm.
Wer viel Zeit hat , gerne rumfrickelt und dem das Ergebnis egal ist, für den ist das ein Muss.

My #NixOS #setup. Even when I #ported it once to #another #machine, I #forgot to add the #user #password. So I kind of went into a #ghost user #session. All i did is #reboot and chose previous #generation corrected my #config and that's all. No need for #backup, #rescue #disk etc. I corrected my configs, now it's truly portable. All my setup is #rock #solid #stable and never #broke it though I use a lot of #unstable #packages. #Nix and #NixOS are just
