That's it. That's the toot.
Also, the most recent version (6.0) includes #ActivityPub by default, so it's instantly federated.

As a self-hosting Mastodon instance, with just a couple user accounts, I wished there was a "preview card" creating mode that recognized when any user was viewing a timeline, whether home, a list, federated, etc, and ONLY created link previews when that was occurring. Also, if it is not already done, wished it would save link data in the database for previews created and when any user shared that link in a new post, reply, etc, it would search the database for the preview image and data without doing it again. I'm not sure if Mastodon already does this or not.
I'm getting gigabytes of images and making untold server calls to other websites for content my instance will never see yet it retains it.
Looks like #Ghost has released version 6.0 earlier today, now with #ActivityPub support.
I've been using Ghost in a container for my blog for several years now, so will definitely be looking to upgrade sometime soon.
Of course my blog supports AP but it needs a lot of work before I can use its social media thing as a replacement for anything.
The #ActivityPub plugin for WordPress hasn't worked for several version updates on my site and I don't have time to debug the issue. If you're following @colin (you’ve likely missed some posts) I recommend subscribing to my #RSS feed instead. I may deactivate the ActivityPub plugin in the near future unless an update fixes the issue. https://cdevroe.com/subscribe
@pukkamustard did some interesting experiments in this area, when migrating CPub from #ActivityPub to #XMPP + #RDF and supporting #ActivityStreams vocabulary, in the openEngiadina project.

No to świat fedi (mastodon) zyskuje chyba właśnie kolejny przyczółek. ghost.org/changelog/6/ Strony postawione na ghost (tangle news? 404 media? The platformer?) będą teraz automatycznie dostępne w fedi ... duża rzecz!
#fediversum #ghost #ActivityPub #SocialMedia
Ghost 6.0
(Fun fact: had #ActivityPub been designed around an #XML representation of linked data instead of #JSON, most of the #Fediverse could be presented on the web via #XSLT, without requiring #JavaScript, directly from the source objects.)
my adventures in #selfhosting: day 230 (disconnected edition)
a micro blog post that celebrates the release of #Ghost v6 - and laments the fact I can’t upgrade to it at the moment (stranded in a remote place with spotty internet).
HUGE congratulations to @index @johnonolan and the whole Ghost team
I’m starting a countdown and hope I can type “ghost update” in Terminal in 12-13 days or so.

the above statement about mirroring data is probably false.

This is probably a misunderstanding of how ActivityPub works...what they mean is probably "federating with" or something.

@valpackett @hazelweakly it was hoped that #pgp/ #gpg would allow the development of 'Webs of Trust' which could be a key building block for this idea, but so far no one has built a user interface which would make that accessible to most people.
That UI is a hard problem to solve well, but some mashup between #ActivityPub and a web of trust -- a #Mastodon-like system where all posts are encrypted but all posts by people who trusted you are decryptable -- is possible.
Final thoughts re: FediCon 2025
As I write this, I'm sitting on an airplane flying over the Canadian prairies on my way home from Vancouver, BC.
What an amazing group of individuals, who took the time out of their extraordinarily busy lives to see, hear, and learn about the fediverse! The connections made and ideas discussed were so important, and you could feel the energy in the air.
You'd think after a solid six hours a day in a lecture hall would be enough, but at every opportunity in between, there were lively discussions about ActivityPub and the fediverse. It turns out when you get all of us in a group together we can talk and continue to talk about the open social web for ages.
I now have a to-do list about a kilometer long, they all need to get done ASAP!
Thank you to @reiver@mastodon.social for organizing this conference, all of those who helped out and participated, and all those who attended.
From now on, whenever someone points a camera to me, I'll picture @jaz@toot.wales saying "say FEEEEEEDIVERSE".

https://bunte-kuechenabenteuer.de/den-eigenen-blog-foederieren-das-activitypub-plugin-fuer-wordpress/#Bridge
#WormsSocial, next steps: Zeitstrahl, Grobplanung.
NodeBB’s embrace of #ActivityPub has given it the capability for members on individual message boards to subscribe to sections of other forums. Architecturally, forum sections work very similarly to how Lemmy communities do.
