After reading the manual and its tips, I placed the living room adapter at a different place, and now the #Powerline speed is around 900 Mbit/s total. Nice! With the old AV500 system I typically got 70-100 Mbit/s, which was good enough. But an increase of factor 10 is even better :)

A very generous person saw my post about me thinking of upgrading my 10 year old #Powerline setup and gave me three Devolo Magic 2 devices they didn’t need themselves any longer. Well. I just received and installed them. And it works. From the ca. 70 Mbit/s I had before with the TP-Link AV500 devices, the performance now jumped by factor 10. Very nice! Thank you for this upgrade :)

I'm working on v2.0 of TerminalBlocks. Which of these three #PowerShell examples is your favorite?

You can try the pre-release:

But it needs the pre-release of my Pansies module:

There's also a pre-release #PowerLine #prompt #module that helps build prompts with it, but docs need some work:

Just before entering the restaurant on the edge of the village, I had to ask my dining companions for a bit of patience. I couldn’t resist capturing this interplay of colors. But what to contrast it with? There was nothing here except the parking lot and the restaurant. Thankfully, there were power lines and poles to save the day. Perhaps I could have used the side mirror of a car or the reflection on a car roof instead… but I lacked the creative leap at the time, maybe I needed some carbs to fuel it.

My last picture of a bird on a power line was 6 days ago. I need another one, a calm image to start the weekend. I spent a lot of time thinking and experimenting with this one. At first, as I instinctively always do, I placed the subject (in this case, the bird) in the center of the 1:1 frame, with more power line and less negative space. Then I played around with the crop a bit, and now I think that more negative space gives the image a sense of calm, with the bird almost gazing into the quiet. And that's exactly what I need for the weekend.

Sometimes nothing inspires me to take photos when I’m out. Everything feels boring, uninteresting. This morning, I had to force myself to go outside, and surprisingly, it ended up being so much fun. It took me half an hour just to cover the first 200 meters. I kept noticing things that wanted to be composed and photographed. That doesn’t say much about the quality of the photos—I probably deleted 95% of them—but the process itself brought me so much joy. I took tons of photos of birds on and around power lines. As a reward, I got pooped on.

Upside-down world. In all my pictures of power lines, they always appear black. It never occurred to me to think about their actual color. Until this first image. The sun lights them up so that they shine brightly, almost silver, while the barbed wire, which is normally silver, appears black. Only then did I realize that power lines have no insulation and you can actually see the bare metal. They likely appear black in my photos because, on one hand, they are exposed against a brighter background, and on the other, they reflect the darker ground. Fascinating!
