I think the Denon PMA-500V service manual is unnecessarily rude. Or maybe Mr. T was on the design team?

Hat jemand einen Vorschlag, wie man eine offene "Naht" bei diesem Kunstleder-Ohrpolster möglichst einfach flickt?
Liebe Menschen, grad die elektronisch Bewanderten:
EDIT:
Der @schnedan könnte was gefunden haben. Vielen Dank an alle fürs Boosten.

Ping an @DerReparierer :)
Past Lea: Don’t use that thread, it’s terrible.
Present Me using that thread: why do we even have this thread? It’s terrible!

New project: trying to fix my relatives' broken TV. At the point at which I have various parts of a television laid across half of my office. Testing backlight LEDs individually now.
Current status: I want to set some television engineers on fire with my mind.
I'm looking for a friendly creature that's willing to help me hopefully repair an old singer sewing machine motor at the #gpn23
Bonus points if you know what you're doing, but I also appreciate every effort to figure it out!

Bobbin shuttle issue fixed. Relubricated everything in line with the shuttle, and no longer hitting. I think a metal on metal contact point must have been binding. Sewed some with thread, but only get 2 inches before the thread breaks. Probably the ancient needle... a bit rusty. Or tension issues. #sewingmachine #sewing #repair
<insert interlude into undocumented bobbin shuttle hell, where I attempt to shatter needles with the bobbin case>
Just spent an hour oiling things. The "MAINTENANCE oiling" instructions were insufficient for identifying everything that needed to be oiled to have it start working. Maybe these are the spots that need oiling most, but there are dozens (dozens) of metal upon metal contact points where there is movement, and I had to hit every one to have things start moving again... this machine had NO trace of any sewing oil, so I suspect it did not get oiled per the manual.
Montgomery Ward Model 1980B. No idea when it was actually made. (don't think 1980 corresponds to the year... but who knows!) #sewing #sewingmachine #restoration #repair
Okay, the problem with being someone who fixes things, is everything is a potential project. Free sewing machine (filthy!). Was going in a trash bin, someone cleaning out their parent's house. All of it going in a trash dumpster tomorrow. I resisted a lot of other stuff, LOL. I suspect this will work fine after cleaning and lubrication. Appears to have been in a garage for 60 years. #ReduceRepairReuseRecycle #Repair #Projects #Sewing
Dear manufacturers, I paid for it and I will modify it as I please. Screw your "tamper resistant" screws.
Meet Mr. Angle Grinder. He's irresistible.
This #diy #electornics #soldering #repair thing is *hard*.
I've spent over an hour removing a defective joystick component from my son's #Xbox wireless controller and I am not pleased with the results.
I have a bad feeling I damaged the PCB beyond repair but I don't have enough experience to be sure.
Check out the solder point next to C25 at the bottom. Yikes.
@ai6yr I've loved seeing your progress... Great job!
Tagging for #SolarPunkSunday !

I'm not a fan of the "replace all caps!" approach in #hifi amp rework, but on this one, more than half of the caps were under-specced (vs. the service manual), often by 1/3 or 1/2 of the nominal voltage, e.g. 10µF 50V spec'd, actually on the PCB: 10µF 16V.
Now, this amp was working fine, so it can't have been superbad, but I erred on the side of caution and replaced them with the value from the service manual.

just a quick fix for that small projection screen in @FreeCAD. I had some problems with the thread, but usually I'll cut it afterwards anyway
