Grow Your Own Services 🌱
You can give your Mastodon server its own unique visual identity by adding your own artwork, icons, themes and custom CSS.

You don't have to do all of these things, but each one helps to make your server more distinct and visually appealing. ✨Soff✨ Mawr :dragnwitch:What tools do you use to manually validate prospective users?
✨Soff✨ Mawr :dragnwitch:
Spammers have been programmatically creating accounts on Mastodon instances for years. Sometimes they post once and never again, sometimes they post on a schedule. Sometimes they never post, like a waiting botnet.

As Mastodon's anti-spam solutions are effectively nonexistent, most instances in our network require manual approval of new accounts. In testing a postgres upgrade (13->15) for our mastodon-servcer, I run into a fatal error 'Your installation contains user-defined objects that refer tointernal polymorphic functions with arguments of type "anyarray" or "anyelement". Haven't been able to find a fix for this online, and there seems to be no logfile to pinpoint the cause. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? #techquestion #mastoadmin #postgres

Hmm. I added the translation option to my Mastodon instance (with DeepL) but the "Translate" button does not appear in the Mastodon Web UI. Also tried wrapping the API key in single-quotes and added DEEPL_PLAN=free. Someone experience with this? #MastoAdmin

All of my pinned posts except the last one disappeared. I guess if the owner Sam has abandoned us & is not maintaining anything, I need to find a new server. Even though he posted he'd work with someone for new ownership, I heard he's ghosting everyone, even on Bluesky.

So...that's a problem.

Right now I'm looking at
planetearth.social/public/local
and
earthstream.social/public/local

Both are very small. Anybody know anything about them I should be aware of?

Thanks!

undefined.social is experiencing some issues due to higher than usual activity. However, the server should be able to handle this. The actual root cause for the hiccups was most likely a configuration error which should be fixed now. 🤞

Bis ich den Fehler jetzt gefunden hatte.
