#ThrowbackThursday to July 2015 — I didn't expect to find such lush green ferns in San Diego County, in July! In a quiet north-facing ravine with nice old-growth chaparral, at Black Mountain Open Space Park.

My #FoggyFriday contribution is from July last year, when a dense morning fog shrouded the sage scrub hillsides here in Rancho Bernardo, California.

#ThrowbackThursday to July 3rd 2011. I found this interesting granitic rock with lichen accents that resembled half of a lion (or mask) while hiking the Gray's Peak Trail near Big Bear, California.

“I don’t know a thing about the rules of composition. I make my own. The subject is very difficult to write about, and perhaps can never be explained in words, since it is so involved in personal experience and growth. Words, ‘art criticism,’ and explanations are the curse of today so far as art is concerned. To me, composition is the clearest and strongest way of seeing a subject.” (Edward Weston)

On this #WaybackWednesday :P I take a look at photos that I made 10 years ago and which I still like... after I re-worked them for my monthly #Throwback routine. :)
For #WaterfallWednesday a detail of "Salt de Martís", a seasonal waterfall that stays dry most of the year.

Torrey Pine trees in dense morning fog for #FoggyFriday or is that #FogFriday and maybe #ForestFriday also?! (none of those themes appear to be very popular anymore?)
Also #FallbackFriday because this is from June 2015. ;)
Erosive (May 2025)
I encountered these fascinating shapes, colors, and textures while hiking this morning.

Saw #Dune , found one in my dreams as well. Golden hour photography right here, next to some ginormous windmills, but that is not a part of the picture. They are too small, you can't see them!
#norway coast, last year.
