A #fraud you may or may not have heard about. Target: book #authors. A company is so happy to promote your #book, they guarantee, in a professional contract, that they will sell 100k volumes of your book, and you will get, say, $7 per book. A nice chunk of money!
However, you have to pay an advance, maybe $15k. Well, OK, a bit phishy, but they have guaranteed to get you $700k!
Yes and no. They do guarantee that, but they "forget" to specify a timeline. You'll wait in eternity for your cheque.
