Just to be on record:
I honestly didn’t expect that even non-YAML code (👀 @nuke build – yeah, I’m talking to you...) would require just as many fucking never-ending commits.
Azure DevOps has proven me wrong. (lol)

The real pain point?
No local test run
No Run pipeline locally
Zero feedback until you PR, merge, and let it rip on main

So yeah, we’re basically testing on the main branch. In production. In 2025.
For everything else, there’s: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also, I firmly believe that not only Carthage must be destroyed, but also:

- CI/CD with no local feedback loop
- “Works on my machine” excuses
_ YAML files that silently break on pasted tabs
- And every doc that starts with “just”

And yes — I really thought nuke build would make things better...
But after 24 hours of commits, checks, and trial-and-error, I’ve been proven otherwise (and I really wanted to make it work and local debugging is awesome — but it’s useless when the docs are a soggy mess and don’t reflect reality.)

@Crell if you like wasting memory and CPU resources, relying on extra external steps for your HTML, and giving your browser less ability to serve you, and making more work for yourself... Sure, then controversial use of additional tech without fall-backs loads fine on your box at least. #worksOnMyMachine

Oh, another CLI tool powered by Node.js. How… innovative. Let me just spin up a new isolated environment, wrangle dependencies, and pray my Node version aligns with your masterpiece. Truly, the pinnacle of software engineering. 👏

Am I the only person which is annoyed of these script kiddy solutions, where you need a whole dev environment to use a CLI tool?
We even generate Infrastructure in Node.js. What can go wrong. 🤷‍♀️ The quality of tools is embarrassing nowadays, and it does not get better with AI.

@Szwendacz if it were so easy then @fuchsiii wouldn't go through all the effort to version-manage and dynamically switch between different #wine versions.

Also being dependent on #Valve isn't a good idea for #RetroGaming because to get Proton running one's kinda forced to have #Steam up and running.

Right now she's contemplating on what workaround for the "#WorksOnMyMachine" / "#WorksOnBareMetal" problem can be used and having setup some #BareMetal to do some testing and reverse-engineering / debugging stuff with a clear "is" vs. "should" compareable setup.

Sorry if this seem a bit vent-ish...
I've just seen a lot more behind the scenes development re: her wine hacks and found your post quite #demotivating...

  • But I can't spoil that much more as of now...
