Jyn Erso Lives!<p>To me, <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/StarWars" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StarWars</span></a> in the sequel era, but especially with the live-action TV shows, has become way too self-referential and "in love" with itself, instead of focusing on what made it great in the first place: bold and sweeping adventures, steeped in the history of movie-making and storytelling.</p>
Jyn Erso Lives!<p>Thinking back to <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Andor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Andor</span></a> and how it has shown that <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/StarWars" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StarWars</span></a> doesn't have to constantly reference itself for people to like it, quite the contrary. If it references the real world and other movies/show, audiences will pick up and their experience deepens. </p><p>Also, Star Wars is just as much about fantastic adventures as it is about dressing up serious real world stuff in the guise of fantastic adventures.</p>

Sure, jumping to (actually much much faster than) light speed doesn't turn you into a fine mist…but it'll still shove you back into your seat or across the cabin?</p><p>They have what passes for email, yet still pay people in physical credit chips that can be stolen en mass, Ft Knox style?</p><p>Sigh.</p>

Slicer said it would be 5 hours to print this - but the slicer doesn't account for the time it takes to change filament colors - and there are a lot of color changes in this print. over 8 hours in, about an hour ago the "wiping wall" fell off the print bed - I got that fixed but didn't quite get it in the right spot.
I'm just hoping this doesn't fail within the last 20 minutes or something....that would be a lot of time and lot of filament wasted.

FediThing 🏳️‍🌈

Started watching the relatively obscure 1980s spy series "Mr Palfrey", and the head of MI6 was played by this actor. I kept thinking she looked awfully familiar but couldn't quite place it.

Looking it up, she's Caroline Blakiston, who around about the same time was filming "Return of the Jedi" in London. It's the original Mon Mothma and playing a very similar character too.

Andor is about the personal risks and sacrifices that just a chance of building a successful resistance requires, and based on history. Andor even explicitly states that rebellion is losing and losing and losing before the chance of success can even hope to appear.
