Somehow this headline and the drastic clampdown on dissent and opposition to current White House administrative and policy feels just like what is happening and accelerating here in the US. The extreme measures in Iran are more blatant, widespread and horrifying.

Yet here ICE expanding budget was approved by 20 times and plan for 58 new detention centers, 10,000 new officers. The new personal Administration military here disappears hundreds if not more people daily and without access to due process. And sudden deportation here is expanding.

I don’t see how this editorial opinion in the New York Times is appropriate, timed for today July 4 in the US. Odd propaganda? Hmm is the US government authoritarian action just fine in contrast? After all judicial controls are now neutered.

Government programs and departments are installed with loyalists to Trump, US serving in military now have an oath to the President in some cases, and our Congress just approved and funded all this. I feel weird saying “Happy July 4” to my American friends, because I don’t think many Americans are very happy with where the country is headed. Independence Day? From what? Tyrannical Kings? Colonial masters?

Seems #theAmericanFascist is headed back there as quickly as he can.

You gotta fight it, friends. You have to stop what you are doing today and really think about how to force Trump and his backers to reverse course now, hopefully peacefully, but maybe not.

So Happy Independence Day to my good hearted American friends. I know you are there, from both parties.

I wish for you the strength to stand up for that Independence and Freedom for all within your borders so you can again become a beacon. Remember that you have friends in the world willing to help, but the first step has to be yours.
