Ok! Really insightful, perceptive, and loving look into asking for help. I don't have brain to parse it well right now, but SO many lines I wanted to just stop and quote (drop your quotes in the replies.

A friend recently wrote this post and I wanted to share:
" “Pace yourself”, people say, “it’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon."
But the truth is, it’s a relay. You do your best, for as long as your energy holds, and then pass the baton to someone with fresh energy. And go rest and regroup, reflect and recover until you’re called upon again.
Pushing yourself to the point of exhaustion may train runners but it’s a bad strategy for activists and volunteers, for creatives, for caregivers and coworkers.
Interdependence doesn’t get enough credit in our competitive, egocentric culture. But if we take turns making a difference, the cause keeps moving forward."

Finished reading Lean On Me by Lynne Segal. Have to admit it left me a bit underwhelmed. First, i find it problematic for a book on care to mention the #COVID19 in the past tense. Over all it's a decent manifesto for increased #care & #interdependence. But i found the writing a bit tedious, lots of name checking & referencing #feminist movements/struggles from the past, "actually, we always said so". But fine. Strong chapter on #ageism, another huge, ignored challenge on the left.

“All living things, from humans to hummingbirds, share one simple fate. If the temperature they’re used to rises too far, too fast, they die.”
~ Jeff Goodell
As Petteri Taalas states, the solution to our ecological crisis has to be global — because the effects are global. Sharing charts pinning blame on one nation to score gotcha points is an entirely ineffective response to this global crisis.
