Ysengrin Blackpaw 🔜 WPAFW<p>This is from a different roll, but the headdress is so distinctive it may help tie it to a particular area ... other photos show more women with similar headdresses (though not all women by a long shot).</p><p><a href="https://meow.social/tags/geolocation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>geolocation</span></a><br><a href="https://meow.social/tags/Himalaya" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Himalaya</span></a></p>
Ysengrin Blackpaw 🔜 WPAFW<p>And the only non-photographic clue I have, a word (location?) handwritten on the sheet holding these negatives. (3/2, I can't count today)</p><p>I'm assuming German because the book of negatives is printed in German (and I was told years ago that it was from Germany), and a photographer not only because it's a book specifically for holding negatives, but the film shows every sign of being self-developed. Also, a lot of the shots seem to be a range of exposures for the same subject.</p><p>I'll cross-post these to Bluesky later ... I've a whole book of negatives to go through :)</p><p><a href="https://meow.social/tags/geolocation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>geolocation</span></a><br><a href="https://meow.social/tags/Himalaya" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Himalaya</span></a></p>
Ysengrin Blackpaw 🔜 WPAFW<p>Here's the same ruin from a different angle and closer ...</p><p><a href="https://meow.social/tags/geolocation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>geolocation</span></a><br><a href="https://meow.social/tags/Himalaya" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Himalaya</span></a></p>
Ysengrin Blackpaw 🔜 WPAFW<p>A puzzle for y'all - I have several rolls of film from a German photographer's trip to the Himalayas/Tibet in 1938, but very little other information about them. </p><p>Any suggestions on where this ruin might be? AI6YR Ben<p>Saw an article about an old plane wreck in Death Valley National Park (CIA plane, the Albatross), so had to geolocate it. Strangely, not easily found on the Internet with a general search. (If you are going to hike there, don't do so in the middle of summer). </p><p> 36.41007, -117.32399</p><p><a href="https://m.ai6yr.org/tags/geolocation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>geolocation</span></a> <a href="https://m.ai6yr.org/tags/planecrash" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>planecrash</span></a> <a href="https://m.ai6yr.org/tags/DeathValleyNationalPark" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DeathValleyNationalPark</span></a></p>
AI6YR Ben<p>I don't have time to go geolocate this right at the second, but I bet someone might recognize this postcard (1940's) -- labeled "Unidentified Californian Hillside"</p><p>Looks like an estate/mansion/castle, consistent with Lockwod Valley/Frazier Park/Gorman/Lake Hughes/Leona Valley/Acton (perhaps farther South), IMHO. </p><p><a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/@Vibracobra23/114876204897878064" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">social.vivaldi.net/@Vibracobra</span><span class="invisible">23/114876204897878064</span></a></p><p><a href="https://m.ai6yr.org/tags/geolocation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>geolocation</span></a></p>

We will be hosting a workshop on AI support for #geolocation at #nr25 - from using prompts as a sparring partner to analyze images or write Overpass queries to tools like Earth Kit and Geospy. Any suggestions what needs to be included?
