Weil ich schon immer ein Herz für das Konzept der absurden Unfalltode hatte, freut es mich besonders, dass der neueste Ableger der Reihe tatsächlich richtig gut geworden ist. Macht Spaß und tut weh. 😀

Hier passt glücklicherweise alles, was ich mir erhofft hatte. Die Kettenreaktionen, die zu den saftig in Szene gesetzten Unfalltoden führen, werden angemessen zelebriert. Dabei wird genau der richtige Ton getroffen, der einen zwar wegen der auf die Spitze getriebenen Absurdität auflachen lässt, aber man kann die Todesangst der Charaktere trotzdem ernst genug nehmen. Und Tony Todds Abschied war eine tatsächlich bewegende Szene. Der tiefschwarze Humor sitzt genauso wie der Spannungsaufbau, und diesen Spagat

We watched "Final Destination Bloodlines".

It's billed a horror movie, but what I experienced was a splatter disaster dark comedy and I absolutely loved it.

If you don't mind people being mutilated in the most excruciating ways and you appreciate brilliantly-written unreliable foreshadowing and hilariously lampshaded foreshadowing, this film is a must-see.

Not a single minute passes without the movie teasing impending doom. Characters are close to dying in event after event, but then they don't, but then they do, but in a surprising way, or it's an unexpected person that dies.

The comedic timing is impeccable, the deaths are overkill and overly complex in the campest ways, the plot (yes!) is creative and interesting.

Now I want to watch the previous five films! This sixth film was 100% possible to enjoy without them and they're all semi-independent, but this one is a celebration of all of them, supposedly chock full of references to them and is a soft reboot/retcon that ties them all together nicely.
