Sisyphus with a Hat<p>I went out to the Crocus Prairie here in Saskatoon, right after work, and was awarded with some wonderful prairie pasqueflower. And then I spotted this Frigid Mining Bee (Andrena frigida), the first one I have ever seen. These little wonders are put very early, even while there is some snow left on the ground. </p><p><a href="https://c.im/tags/frigidminingbee" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>frigidminingbee</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/miningbees" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>miningbees</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/pollinators" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>pollinators</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/yxe" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>yxe</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/crocus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>crocus</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/prairiepasqueflowers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>prairiepasqueflowers</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/urbannature" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>urbannature</span></a></p>

This Is My Glasgow<p>A colony of mining bees at Hogganfield Loch in the east of Gladgow. These solitary bees dig nests into sandy soil, creating these distinctive piles of excavated sand on the surface. You can see one of the bees itself in the bottom left of the picture.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/glasgow" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>glasgow</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/hogganfieldloch" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hogganfieldloch</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/bees" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bees</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/miningbees" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>miningbees</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/glasgowwildlife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>glasgowwildlife</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/urbannature" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>urbannature</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/urbanwildlife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>urbanwildlife</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/wildglasgow" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>wildglasgow</span></a></p>
Hesperalis<p>On one of our mad holiday walks we came across this mud bank with hundreds of bee mines. It was fairly early in the morning and only a few bees were about, I got a very bad photo of the bee in question but cant ID. Any suggestions?
