Oktober ist die finale Abstimmung über die Einführung der Chat-Kontrolle durch die Innenminister:innen der Europäischen Union angesetzt.Auch wenn es dann bis zur konkreten Umsetzung noch etwas dauert und eines konkreten Rechtsaktes bedarf, sollte dafür gekämpft werden, dass am 14.10.2025 keine Mehrheit zustande kommt.Wird der EU-Plan umgesetzt, wird es keine unüberwachte Ende-zu-Ende-Verschlüsselung mehr geben (Signal hat schon angekündigt, sich dann umgehend aus der EU zurück zu ziehen).Auch wenn die Einführung vordergründig mit dem Kampf gegen Kinderpornografie begründet wird, geht es doch ersichtlich um den Ausbau eines rechten, repressiven Systems. Die politische Rechte ist auf dem Vormarsch, geplant ist die technische Totalüberwachung und damit Kontrolle nach dem Vorbild Chinas.
