Jonathan Carroll<p>A brilliant talk from Aaron Hsu (not on Fedi, AFAICT) <a href="https://youtu.be/V8sACAhg4vM" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">youtu.be/V8sACAhg4vM</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>I'm left wondering though, is his lack of satisfaction in types due to <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/APL" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>APL</span></a> having so few of them? I absolutely see the benefits of typing things more strictly, and at the same time fully appreciate the simplicities which come from abandoning them and working dynamically.</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/lambdaconf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lambdaconf</span></a> is one of those confs I have massive FOMO over, so recordings are a must watch.</p>
Logan McGrath 💅<p>So I went to <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LambdaConf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LambdaConf</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/LambdaConf2025" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LambdaConf2025</span></a> without researching the speaker lineup and found myself staring at this clown case’s slides wondering what in the hell some of these bullet points had to do with the conference? If I were an employer and paid money to send my people to learn things and this is what they were picking up, I’d be livid and demanding my money back.</p>
Brian Sletten<p>My <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/webassebly" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>webassebly</span></a> keynote from <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/lambdaconf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lambdaconf</span></a> has gone live. It’s a whirlwind tour of the breadth of this exciting and evolving computational landscape. Other than the difficulty of speaking at 7,500ft/2200m, it came it pretty well:</p><p><a href="https://youtu.be/fkXkZ847a6k?si=QkNMAma5GShYsltV" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">youtu.be/fkXkZ847a6k?si=QkNMAm</span><span class="invisible">a5GShYsltV</span></a></p>
Nicolas Fränkel 🇺🇦🇬🇪<p>Back home from <a href="https://mastodon.top/tags/lambdaconf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lambdaconf</span></a> interesting talks, board games, and wildlife. What’s not to like? 😎</p><p>Now a bit of rest and off to <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@jcon" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>jcon</span></a></span>!</p>
Nicolas Fränkel 🇺🇦🇬🇪<p><a href="https://mastodon.top/tags/lambdaconf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lambdaconf</span></a> starts today, and it’s my first one.</p><p>Bonus: board games (Evolution) and Colorado fauna 🫎</p>
Nicolas Fränkel 🇺🇦🇬🇪<p>Yesterday I played Margraves of Valeria. Today, on my way to <a href="https://mastodon.top/tags/LambdaConf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LambdaConf</span></a>.</p><p>Join me there with a 15% discount <a href="http://www.eventbrite.com/e/540887036687/?discount=NicolasFrankel15" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">http://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">eventbrite.com/e/540887036687/</span><span class="invisible">?discount=NicolasFrankel15</span></a></p><p>See you soon! 👋</p>
Chris Krycho<p>Software engineers should always be asking:</p><p>Does the tool I am building, by way of systematizing the world, *serve* or *stomp on* the people who are going to use it—their knowledge, their expertise, their skills, etc.?</p><p>(Brought to you by one my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LambdaConf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LambdaConf</span></a> 2024 talks.)</p>
Chris Krycho<p>I, uhh, have a *lot* to cut from my talk on versioning for <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LambdaConf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LambdaConf</span></a>.</p><p>“50 minutes,” I thought, “will definitely be enough time and be way easier than a 25–30-minute talk!”</p><p>WRONG. Absolutely, completely, totally, utterly wrong. 😂</p>
Chris Krycho<p>Delighted to announce I'm speaking at <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LambdaConf" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LambdaConf</span></a> 2024—twice! The first one, “The Cutting Edge of Versioning”, ranges all over: sociology, type systems, programming languages (TypeScript, Rust, Elm, Unision, and more), and evolving code! <a href="https://youtu.be/f8BpuQ9LYNs" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">youtu.be/f8BpuQ9LYNs</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>
