Maaret Pyhäjärvi<p>Reading how "7 days of work was done in 5 hours", I am thinking back on how <a href="https://mas.to/tags/EnsembleProgramming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EnsembleProgramming</span></a> made a 6-month work be ready in a week. </p><p>We have no idea of the size of a thing before we implement it. I wish we weren't asked to guess, buffer and overexplain when we learn.</p>
das-g<p>Vor glaub' ein paar Wochen bin ich (m.E.n. hier im Fediverse) auf einen (m.E. guten) Artikel oder Blogpost mit Erfahrungen &amp; Empfehlungen zum Ausprobieren &amp; Einführen von <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/EnsembleProgramming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EnsembleProgramming</span></a> a.k.a. <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/Teaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Teaming</span></a>, <a href="https://chaos.social/tags/MobProgramming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MobProgramming</span></a> gestoßen. Markus Tacker<p>We need to make sure to put what was communicated into reality, until then we cannot assume that it's understood. Ça va aussi parler de mélange télétravail / sur site, sujet important pour moi aussi 😁</p>
Maaret Pyhäjärvi<p>This week as manager included something very much akin to <a href="https://mas.to/tags/EnsembleProgramming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EnsembleProgramming</span></a> and oh my, that was powerful. I learned that people don't know things they should know. I learned that things come too fast without sufficient reflection to turn them to learnings. I learned that people could succeed better given more clarity through limiting things we are learning simultaneously. </p><p>I already made changes to provide slightly better support. I still think we should pair / ensemble more.</p>
Maaret Pyhäjärvi<p>With <a href="https://mas.to/tags/EnsembleProgramming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EnsembleProgramming</span></a>, we talk about time together being worthwhile as long as we are either <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Learning" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Learning</span></a> or <a href="https://mas.to/tags/Contributing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Contributing</span></a>. Today I need to add that learning the same thing every day again is not really what I mean by learning. Learning should accrue. We need to figure out ways of practicing in a way where we are likely to retain information.</p>

I’m so excited. I 💚 <a href="https://agilealliance.social/tags/softwareTeaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>softwareTeaming</span></a> &amp; <a href="https://agilealliance.social/tags/collaboration" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>collaboration</span></a>. And getting there on <a href="https://agilealliance.social/tags/Trimet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Trimet</span></a> <a href="https://agilealliance.social/tags/bus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bus</span></a>. I’m lucky to have 2 routes nearby my house. (Also, it’s very hard to type on the bus.)</p>
Jon Reid<p>Cameras on. The facial expressions and body postures of the folks you're coding with is important information. Otherwise the person who talks the most "wins." Working as a team means learning to read each other. <a href="https://iosdev.space/tags/EnsembleProgramming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EnsembleProgramming</span></a> <a href="https://iosdev.space/tags/SoftwareTeaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SoftwareTeaming</span></a></p>
Jon Reid<p>Having so much fun doing <a href="https://iosdev.space/tags/TDD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TDD</span></a> in <a href="https://iosdev.space/tags/EnsembleProgramming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EnsembleProgramming</span></a> that I didn't notice I was getting hungry.</p><p>Stomach: Hey. TDD doesn't feed me.<br>Me: Well it does, indirectly.</p>
Maaret Pyhäjärvi<p>People still seem to think that for geographically distributed teams, meeting face to face is the key to success. I am of opinion that working together, like actually working together <a href="https://mas.to/tags/PairProgramming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PairProgramming</span></a>, <a href="https://mas.to/tags/EnsembleProgramming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EnsembleProgramming</span></a> and sharing work as real team is much more key than traveling to meet people. </p><p>The perceived distance is almost as much of a choice as the physical distance. Show up for people, every day.</p>
Jon Reid<p>The power of working as a software team:<br>- 3 people are working on a feature. I join them. 1 person leaves.<br>- We implement part of a feature, which helps me understand what's going on. I take a turn at driving and we implement another part.<br>- 2 people leave for lunch, since we're in different timezones. Another person joins.</p><p>Now, none of the original people are here, but the work keeps moving forward. <a href="https://iosdev.space/tags/SoftwareTeaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SoftwareTeaming</span></a> <a href="https://iosdev.space/tags/EnsembleProgramming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>EnsembleProgramming</span></a> <a href="https://iosdev.space/tags/MobProgramming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MobProgramming</span></a></p>
