Hopland<p>After reading the exceptions added to <a href="https://snabelen.no/tags/cockroachdb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cockroachdb</span></a> and their <a href="https://snabelen.no/tags/apache" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>apache</span></a> license, I'm going to need to go consider not using CockroachDB, not because I intend to setup my own DBaaS, but because I'm concerned what DBaaS means.</p><p>Seeing as I'm interested in becoming a provider for platforms that expose API's, I'm not sure if it's a good idea to rely on CockroachDB. If I deployed enough of databases, even if the client never sees or gives a single SQL request, will it then qualify as DBaaS?</p>
