SevorisNow, SiYuan‘s backlinks UI lets you „step up“ the hierarchy, but now you have to "fold out" views in a way that doesn‘t have a list-wide shortcut or button to get an overview. That‘s a high friction killer. Shame. I had seen SiYuan a bit further ahead - and I mean, in terms of database game they‘ll be up there with <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/RemNote" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#RemNote</a> and <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/Heptabase" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Heptabase</a>, now, and have a lowkey parity with <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/Tana" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Tana</a>. That‘s not nothing. But it feels like a little less than they should have because of one bad UI choice.

Is there some software/design issue that makes it untenable? It is going to be very painful waiting until I have done my "work" before I can jump into my <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/pkm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#pkm</a> <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/tft" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#tft</a> and "take notes." I switched from <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/RemNote" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#RemNote</a> to <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Logseq" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Logseq</a> because I was frustrated with the development pace at RemNote. Extremely slow + buggy but at that time RemNote kept touting that they had rewritten the whole codebase. Twice in the span of 8 months that I used it on and off, and I was like "Who cares???". I believed they refactored the codebase at least 1 more time after I stopped using it 2 years ago.And now they're pulling ahead of Logseq, fast and stable.
