concretedog<p>Great morning volunteering at that "tech help drop in". The last hour was quiet so a few of us broke out gadgets to play with. I finally set up my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/picocalc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>picocalc</span></a> to run <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> on the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/luckfox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>luckfox</span></a> board.</p>
Zachary Powell 🥑:androidHead:<p>🚀 Retro just got Modern!<br>In today’s video on DevWithZachary, I explore the Clockwork PicoCalc — a tiny yet mighty handheld computer powered by the Raspberry Pi Pico.</p><p>With just 264KB of memory, this device can run C, C++, Python, and Lua — proving that powerful programming doesn't always need modern specs.</p><p>What can you really achieve with less than 300KB? Jesse Spielman<p>It is a widely known fact that despite loving <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/startrek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>startrek</span></a> I am not a huge <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/voyager" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>voyager</span></a> fan; specfically I find <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/neelix" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>neelix</span></a> very very annoying and unlikable. </p><p>Due to a mixup, a techno toy that I bought myself for my birthday (a <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/clockworkpi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>clockworkpi</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PicoCalc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PicoCalc</span></a> ) ended up getting shipped to my parents in the US. My friend agreed to bring it over with him on a trip to the UK. I finally got it yesterday and excitedly unboxed it only to find my "friend" had filled it with pictures of neelix! He got me so bad.</p>

Stefan Wolfrum :mastodon:<p>Very nice new gadget, the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/PicoCalc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PicoCalc</span></a> by <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ClockworkPi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ClockworkPi</span></a>! 🤩 Got mine a few days ago and am currently learning a lot about how it works. Documentation is a bit sparse, currently. You have to study many forum posts on forum.clockworkpi.com, there's currently no "gettings started" guide. – A bit disappointing: No Python (neither Micro-, nor Circuit-) out of the box. But folks (not ClockworkPi) are working on it. – If you're into Forth: it's already there. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/RaspberryPi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RaspberryPi</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Pico" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pico</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Pico2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pico2</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MMBasic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MMBasic</span></a></p>

Wesley Moore<p>Assembled my PicoCalc today. It was really well packaged with nice instructions. The device itself feels really well constructed and has a few features you might not expect like speakers, headphone jack, volume knob, backlit keyboard, and inbuilt charger for the 18650s. Next step is finding out what the little BASIC shell is capable of.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.decentralised.social/tags/ClockworkPi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ClockworkPi</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.decentralised.social/tags/PicoCalc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PicoCalc</span></a></p>
Bosco<p>I finally received a PicoCalc from clockworkpi. It's a nice piece of kit. Is there already a software archive?
