Sie ist eine Pflanze, die keine Photosynthese betreibt! Stattdessen lässt sie sich vollständig von einem Pilz mit Nährstoffen versorgen. Es standen mehrere Exemplare an einem besonders dunklen Ort unter einem Baum, an dem sonst eigentlich nichts gewachsen ist. Auf einigen der Pflanzen waren Ameisen. Im englischsprachigen Wikipedia-Artikel steht, dass diese die Orchideen möglicherweise befruchten.
