Call Center VillageSo, we nicknamed our Call Center Village party at <a href="https://defcon.social/@defcon" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@defcon</a> to be "Party Line".<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Party_line_(telephony)" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Party_line_(telephony)</a>To set the stage, we have several (neon) telephones and an Asterisk PBX configured with some fun shenanigans (a simulated party line, jukebox/music, ring patterns, etc.) We also have a public telephone number associated with the Party Line that right now just says it's not active. The goal of that public number is to have an IVR/directory of parties that are currently happening or upcoming while in Vegas for hackers to call and learn about. > i.e., call the party line, hear a list of public parties, select one to learn more, go and meet people! We've also got a "drop-in" to the local party line at our actual party, meaning you can call in and talk to people who are physically at the Call Center Village party [assuming internet is stable]. This portion will only be active during the 4-hour block of our party on Saturday night. > Sat. 10pm-2am @ LVCC L2 W210I'm bringing all of this up because I'd like to offer anyone throwing a party in Las Vegas during Hacker Summer Camp 2025 to also include their party in the Party Line discovery. By default, we are only including <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/dc33" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#dc33</a> parties (from the DEFCON 33 website) but will gladly add any other free/open parties where the verifiable organizer wants added. > Email support@callcentervillage.com to get started.Have a private party?
