Dr. Fortyseven 🥃 █▓▒░
Hit the second ep. Man, #CreatureCommandos is... a real mixed bag. Visually stunning, conceptually interesting. But it feels like a video game where the main story is completely derailed by side missions. I'm sure we'll get to it.

In general it feels like there's too much focus on being edgy. It's rather "90s" in that way.

It just feels weird. And not in the good way (surprisingly). For example, the strange choice of music it reaches for, for some scenes (including 1x02's climax) is like claws on a chalkboard. It's as if Cheech Marin (of Cheech & Chong) was asked to improvise something on the spot.

While this isn't quite working for me (so far), much to my surprise, I can see it becoming something I come to enjoy down the line.

Besides, I disliked 'Acolyte' far more at this point, but even that I was able to eventually find good things to praise by the end. Surely this will fare even better.

I want to like this. It's early on. I'll let it simmer. 👍

NOTES:
- Loved seeing GI Robot, but "is that a Nazi" and pointing a gun at someone, while great to see, is getting a bit tiresome already,. Was he so one-note in his own comics? I saw a video about him earlier this year and he seemed far more interesting.

- Could do without Weasel. We did all of his jokes in 'Suicide Squad'. And we've basically done them all again: "he killed some children", slobbering, etc.

- The visual parallels between Rick Flag Sr. and Captain Pike from Strange New Worlds are striking.

- The animated version of James Gunn in the credits feels a bit... arrogant. :P
