Currently, I am so nervous.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Oh hey, you made it here.
I am new. I will list some things about me.
I live in the US
I am a Black American
I am a nonbinary person
My pronouns are they/them
I have diagnosed ADHD (you'll be able to tell)
I studied art in university (waste of time)
I love to write
I currently am (as of 2025) studying computer science in university
I previously had accounts on Wordpress and many other social media but frequently have breakdowns and delete them or abandon them.
I am so glad to meet you, and I can't wait to learn more about the communities around.
Thanks for listening!
@thalassophobic
Welcome!
I hope you don't delete this account.
Anyway, there are lots of #writers of all sorts on Mastodon and other parts of the fediverse. You could actually try #writing posts on an instance like #hometown that does not have the 500 character limit.
I don't quite know what to do about WordPress at this time. I have a couple accounts there. Do you often #write on Tumblr?
You might join groups for writers such as #writerscoffeeclub #writerscommunity or #writersofmastodon
@Rozzychan I am considering writing on Tumblr and linking it on here, but I wonder how that'd work out or if it'd be annoying. I'm also thinking about writing on Wordpress again, but I rather would write long form content.

I believe @liztai has figured out a neat way to link her WordPress blog posts so they post to the Fediverse...
@JillsJoy @thalassophobic @Rozzychan yes, it's pretty fuss free. However, I use WordPress.com, and it has a toggle that says connect to the Fediverse, and that's it, done. If you use the open source version I think you need to download the Fediverse widget.
@liztai @JillsJoy @thalassophobic @Rozzychan
The Plugin for selfhosted wordpress is called activitypub https://wordpress.org/plugins/activitypub/
i don't recommend for noobs but also not pro-stuff / it generates its own profile witch can be reached from anywhere in the fediverse.

Ooh, this sounds hard. I'll consider it in the future when I learn how to make a Wordpress.org.
@thalassophobic @liztai @JillsJoy @Rozzychan @Olaf actually it is not rocket-science... just a little cascading installations of stuff. Well described and quite some supportive Knowledge in the fediverse. All done in the backend, no terminal and stuff needed, no TOS Just you, your Webspace, Our content, and the option to receive comments from the fediverse. Actually a cool thing on many ways and worth the effort.
@DieWespe @liztai @JillsJoy @Rozzychan @Olaf
Oh, I see. Well, I'll consider it.
