Finished another classic.
Totally missed it back then in my Amiga days. I played part 1 some years ago and did not like it that much. This one was better. The levels were more compact and it didn't get lost that often 😅 The shmup-levels were nice too.

"Turrican - the only german action hero" 😆

Iron Meat – Konami’s Contra series showed obvious influence from R-rated movies like Predator, Aliens, and Rambo, but the games were still fundamentally aimed at kids, so the end results were always a little sanitized. Now thirty-five years after the original Contra game, unshackled by such regulations, Iron Meat delivers run-and-gun action far more brutal and far more vicious than the original games were ever allowed to be. #games #gaming #retro #retrogaming #contra #turrican #runandgun

My 1st big costume project for 2025 will be an interpretation of The Machine from the Turrican games. It’s aimed for Gamescom 2025.

My main reference for The Machine will be this picture from the intro of Turrican 2. The costume will also be heavily inspired by the Borg from Star Trek: TNG.

This cosplay is something I’ve considered for several years, so I’m excited to finally be tackling the project now. I’m also looking forward to painting purple armour for a change!

@konjak I haven't played jump&run games for a long long time. But I remember the old times with #CommanderKeen, #Turrican, Jazz Jackrabbit... and introducing my kid to platformers and a real game controller by playing #Iconoclasts together is simply delightful. The relaxed difficulty level where you won't die is perfect.
I thought that kids growing up with addictive touch-screen mobile games full of in-app-purchases is just the way of the world. But it doesn't have to be 🤩
