Jenny AndrewFinally, and possibly my favourite re-find of the day… I didn’t make this dress, but it’s right up there in contention for the best garment I ever bought. I just added a hook and bar behind the top far-side (in this photo) button, which has improved the neck-line fit so much, I can’t quite understand why the manufacturer didn’t do it in the first place. I need you to see the half ‘n’ half jacket (now more like 70:30) with the sleeves in. Sini TuuliaDuring the night I pondered buttonholes and have unlocked another tier of the tech tree. Above, the rather okay and nice buttonhole I did last night. Below, the one I am working on now. The change? Tried it with three strands of thread for this one, and it's quite stiff in feel, but does look nicer and the jacket already feels like armour so why not. Sini TuuliaThe thread I'm using is absolutely not meant for this, but it's alright when doubled up, and the colour gradient is subtle enough to not offend my sensibilities. The first buttonhole is also always somewhat drunk, so the fact I got the keyhole bit that nice first go? Not terrible!
