Both from the design point of view and the infrastructure point of view. Coincidentally, SourceHut is also actually free software.<br><br>As for "porting", generally walled gardens make it hard on purpose to migrate away, so if you're waiting for </span><a href="https://fedi.tyil.nl/tags/GitHub" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#GitHub</a> to make it easy for you to move to a better platform you'll be waiting one hell of a long time.</p>

I did that mostly to get away from centralisation.</p>
Tenacity Audio Editor<p>Due to changes in <a href="https://floss.social/tags/Forgejo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Forgejo</span></a> that we have recently taken advantage of, <a href="https://floss.social/tags/SourceHut" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SourceHut</span></a> is now properly synced and is now up to date! Furthermore, we also accept patches via SourceHut over email (we have this whole time, but now it should be easier), so feel free to send one over! Just make sure they target the audacity-3.7-rebase branch!</p>

Martijn van Exel<p>As I have been looking for a new home for my OSS projects, I've landed on <a href="https://en.osm.town/tags/Sourcehut" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Sourcehut</span></a>, an indie developer platform I've been following for some years. </p><p>Sourcehut has a lot going for it - 100% open source, funded by members, you don't need an account to open an issue or start a discussion.</p><p>I do think the design of the platform is a little too intimidating to be welcoming to non-technical users. I am worried it may put some people off. </p><p>Anyone else considering moving off of github? Discuss?</p>
