Access to the #tor network is even more crucial and gives access to Signal and most of the free web.

Just install the #Firefox #Webextension and make sure WebRTC is enabled (if your browser supports videocalls, it will be enabled).

You can also use #Orbot and instead of enabling a Tor Entry- or Middle-Node, setup a Snowflake Proxy ("Friendly mode"). Proxies are really only used by censored people, so dont fear abuse.

Nachdem ich gestern das Cloud Gateway Ultra in Betrieb genommen habe, fielen mir im Log Hunderte von Zugriffen meiner NAS auf IP-Adressen in Russland auf.

WTF?

Ich hatte Russland vorher als Geoblock eingetragen. Soweit ich weiß, konnte die Fritze sowas nicht, ist mir also nicht aufgefallen.

Nach zwei Stunden Suche und und einigen Schweißtropfen kam ich dann mitten in der Nacht darauf, doch mal den Snowflake-Proxy abzuschalten, der auf der NAS läuft.

Das Hirn früher anzuwerfen hätte mehr Schlaf bedeutet.

Und ich meine das ernst, benutzt den #Snowflake Proxy. Ihr werdet damit tausenden Menschen helfen und das tut weder eurer Internetverbindung, noch eurer Hardware weh und das wichtigste, ihr macht damit nichts Illegales und werdet für den Traffic auch nicht belangt werden können, weil es nur ein #Tor Relay und keine Exit Node ist.

Anyway, I still do strongly encourage everyone whose Internet is not censored to install the Snowflake proxy! It helps people from authoritarian countries connect to the #Tor network, by disguising the connection as a video conference.
