"At Seventeen" is a song by American singer-songwriter #JanisIan from her seventh studio album #BetweenTheLines. #Columbia released it in July 1975 as the album's second single. Ian wrote the lyrics on the basis of a #NewYorkTimes article and used a #samba instrumental, and Brooks Arthur produced the final version. A #pop and #softRock ballad, the song is about a social outcast in #highSchool. Critics have regarded "At Seventeen" as a type of #anthem.

quicktipp #107: On modern Linux you don't necessarily need Samba to create a SMB share. The Kernel now has its own SMB3 server (KSMBD).
Note: This needs a kernel >= 5.15 and compiled with CONFIG_SMB_SERVER. Ubuntu 24.04+ ships it.
If you are in Red Hat land: This is currently disabled in Fedora and EL10 (for EL9 the kernel would be too old anyways), so you'd need to build kernel + usermode tools yourself.

I’ve got Samba set up on a #Debian server and, from macOS Finder’s Network view, I’d like the computer to display as “A Fancy Name” instead of “A-FANCY-NAME” (which, I’m assuming, is derived from the hostname).
How might I do that?
Setting “server string” in smb.conf doesn’t seem to do it.
