Early rise and run’n sniff with Pépite. Did 12 km, discovered some new shady paths, encountered a fox, found a place to cool off and turned around when we saw a loose dog to avoid problems. Breakfast on the terrace and now we brace for the heat to come.
Achilles tendon is still not ok. I tried to switch to midfoot strike and that allowed me to complete 1h run (thanks @wheel for pointing this out!), however I'll need to follow @EllenInEdmonton 's advice and alternate #running with #aquajogging
So the plan for next week will be:
Mon - strength training
Tue - aquajogging 1h
Wed - rest
Thu - strength training
Fri - aquajogging or elliptical 1h
Sat - rest
Sun - long run 2h
Ich war wieder laufen, 7,8 km in 58 Minuten. "Der Weg ist das Ziel." - Konfuzius. Es fühlt sich großartig an, die Grenzen zu überschreiten!
Garmin gave me something resembling encouragement after a run for a change!
Happy to have hit this fitness goal for the year. Before today it had been stubbornly stuck on 52 for months.

5.2 KM of #Running (19°C, 100% humidity, and 12 KM/H wind)
21.6 KM of #Cycling (humidex was in the high 30s ).
Slow zone 2 run today to test the calf. Still painful, though much improved and bearable. I'll give it a few more days. <long digital sigh>
Cycled out to site, taking the scenic route in (Rideau Canal to Dow's lake, along the Trillium pathway, over Chief William Commanda Bridge, along the Ottawa River and over the Chaudiere bridges). Good work day, and then home.
Today was the last #race before the #summer break. It was a race up to the #Uetliberg above #Zurich. I need to find a solution for my #traffic problems on such races. Got stuck three times today, but enjoyed the race.

Needed another 4k steps today to keep the streak running, so I went out for a quick run. Goddamn the confidence boost to know that I can just casually decide to go out and run.

Today’s #positivity is a shout out to the volunteers that make sure events happen. Especially #Running events. I have spent 5 hours today helping mark out a course for a 30km trail race tomorrow and will be out for a similar period tomorrow clearing up afterwards.
It is tough work in this heat but without people giving up their time many events will
Simply not happen.
Back to #Parkrun today: 5K time 21:33 pace 6’56”/mi. No PR, but at least 10sec faster than last and it’s sub-7’/mi pace, less than a week after my 35+mi run last Sunday!
Maybe shaving off another 10sec next week?
