Achintya Rao • ಅ • 🏳️‍⚧️<p>Those who know me know that I am not a huge fan of academic writing and publishing. Hell, the term “to publish” has been entirely co-opted by for-profit journals to mean “to gatekeep”.</p><p>So, inspired by <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://scholar.social/@gedankenstuecke" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>gedankenstuecke</span></a></span>, I am reclaiming the term by publishing academic(-adjacent?) work on my <a href="https://scholar.social/tags/PersonalWiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PersonalWiki</span></a>, in as non-academic (and non-awful) a writing style as I can get away with.</p><p>Still nothing here besides the start of an abstract, but it’s a start:</p><p><a href="https://wiki.achintyarao.in/Public_Engagement_with_Sciences_and_Technologies" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">wiki.achintyarao.in/Public_Eng</span><span class="invisible">agement_with_Sciences_and_Technologies</span></a></p><p><a href="https://scholar.social/tags/AcademicChatter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AcademicChatter</span></a></p>
gavcloud<p>The subtitle icons themselves function as buttons, which re-direct to a note that is generated via a template containing a geomap widget, and the coordinates as the note title, stored when either of the two ViewToolbar buttons is pressed.</p><p><a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/tiddlywiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tiddlywiki</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/digitalgarden" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>digitalgarden</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/gps" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gps</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/geolocation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>geolocation</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/notetaking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>notetaking</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/personalwiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>personalwiki</span></a></p>
gavcloud<p>I refactored the [[Bookcase]] in my wiki …&nbsp;it might be a good topic for a video tutorial someday. </p><p>Instead of loading in different stored lists as a way of filtering the content, I now have one list that is filtered dynamically that both list (text) views and cover (image) views adhere to, making for neat on-the-fly re-arranging of the same list, and much more optimized. </p><p><a href="https://gavart.ist/#Bookcase" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">gavart.ist/#Bookcase</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/tiddlywiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tiddlywiki</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/wiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>wiki</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/personalwiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>personalwiki</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/books" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>books</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/reading" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>reading</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/code" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>code</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/lists" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lists</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/archivist" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>archivist</span></a> <a href="https://sonomu.club/tags/refactor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>refactor</span></a></p>

Moravian Kaleidoscopy Ltd🇺🇦<p>I'm switching to Logseq for note taking/keeping: <a href="https://logseq.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">logseq.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>Over the years I've been using ikiwiki, MoinMoin, Trello, and then vimoutliner. I don't have many requirements so vimoutliner has been nice for somebody already using vim, the thing I was missing the most was ability to access notes from my phone. With Logseq I can keep the same note structure and using <a href="https://witter.cz/tags/syncthing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>syncthing</span></a> I can keep them synced between multiple devices. What are you using?</p><p><a href="https://witter.cz/tags/logseq" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>logseq</span></a> <a href="https://witter.cz/tags/vimoutliner" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>vimoutliner</span></a> <a href="https://witter.cz/tags/PersonalWiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PersonalWiki</span></a></p>
Gersande La Flèche<p>I've been using <span class="h-card"><a href="https://mas.to/@obsidian" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>obsidian</span></a></span> (helped by the HTML Web Export plugin) to create my personal wiki/digital garden and honestly it's been great. I also have private folders that I don't include in the export compile, so I can keep some research to myself but link to pages that are part of my public wiki, etc. </p><p>It's great: <a href="http://wiki.gersande.com" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">http://</span><span class="">wiki.gersande.com</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> </p><p><a href="https://silvan.cloud/tags/DigitalGarden" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DigitalGarden</span></a> <a href="https://silvan.cloud/tags/PersonalWiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PersonalWiki</span></a> <a href="https://silvan.cloud/tags/ObsidianMD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ObsidianMD</span></a></p>

Gersande La Flèche<p>I was having some small issues with FeatherWiki so switched my personal wiki/digital garden to TiddlyWiki, but to be honest while I find TiddlyWiki very easy to use and really pretty (at least with my current theme, it's not as useful on mobile but I really like it in the browser: <a href="https://wiki.gersande.com" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">wiki.gersande.com</span><span class="invisible"></span></a>) it takes a fucking age and a half to load. Frustrating. I don't want to deal with more complex self-hosted wiki-software because I'm self-hosting and love the drag-and-drop-html-file TiddlyWiki approach. Do I just... accept that it's going to be slow? </p><p><a href="https://silvan.cloud/tags/FeatherWiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FeatherWiki</span></a> <a href="https://silvan.cloud/tags/TiddlyWiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TiddlyWiki</span></a> <a href="https://silvan.cloud/tags/DigitalGarden" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DigitalGarden</span></a> <a href="https://silvan.cloud/tags/PersonalWiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PersonalWiki</span></a> <a href="https://silvan.cloud/tags/NemetonaElectronica" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NemetonaElectronica</span></a></p>
