@constancies I would suggest (and feel free, of course, to dismiss and ignore) that you plan a move to #peertube, say, and ask your followers if they would join you there.
And move slowly - to give people a chance to join you.
But as you say, if it is a hobby, you can be a lot more choosy about where you are represented.

wonder if i should delete my youtube account. it has a good 500 subscribers but like... google is such a shitty company that i'm questioning if the extra bump in viewers is even worth supporting them, especially since we have alternative platforms like #peertube ready for us.
if i switched over i would most certainly have way less viewers, potentially even 0, but music is a hobby for me anyway, not a job. so like... does it really matter?
having similar thoughts about my music being hosted on streaming platforms (like spotify

Grundsätzlich hab ich nichts gegen Apps.
Viel lieber ist meine eine offene API, mit der die aktuellen Apps schon heute Videos durchsuchbar machen.
Wichtiger als die App halte ich Content Creator, die Videos als Hauptquelle dort einstellen.
Eine App ohne Videos hat weniger Chancen als eine Videoplattform ohne App.

Was ich mir eigentlich wünsche: Mehr "Content-Creators", die (auch) auf #PeerTube veröffentlichen.
Ich finde es so schade, dass so viele sich von Plattformkonzernen wie #YouTube, #Twitch und #Patreon abängig macht, während unzählige von ihnen inhaltlich gegen diese argumentieren.
