At some point OpenDocument Reader stopped working and give me this error when I try to open .docx documents. Have restarted app and reinstalled with no luck. Any tips or good alternatives? Fairphone 5 with android 15.

Ce sont des formats ouverts, libres, normalisés #ISO, documentés et de qualité, qui assurent la pérennité et la compatibilité de vos documents, et ne vous rendent pas dépendant de #Microsoft et de son racket mondial malhonnête.

@cd_newton @ligniform AFAICT Microsoft Office does auto-convert things toctheir shitty #OOXML format for no valid reason even if one sets it up to use #OpenDocument!

Le format #OpenDocument (#ODF) est un #FormatOuvert. Les formats #Microsoft ne le sont pas: ils sont délibérément défectueux afin d'enfermer les utilisateurs dans l'écosystème MSoft
Nous devrions tous enregistrer nos documts au format ODF (.odt, .ods, .odp ...) dès maintenant. Ça ne coûte rien, nécessite zéro formation, n'oblige pas à changer de suite bureautique. Les formats ODF sont des normes ISO, libres et compatibles avec toutes les suites bureautiques
Ces formats permettent à chacun de continuer à utiliser la suite de son choix, que ce soit #LibreOffice, MsOffice ou une autre, tout en communicant facilement sans perte de données.

Tatsächlich ist es das Format mit den größten technischen Schwächen und den größten technischen Hürden für Anwender, und man fragt sich, warum nicht stattdessen häufiger auch auf ODS aus der #OpenDocument-Familie gesetzt wird. Interessant wär in diesem Zusammenhang mal zu ermitteln, wieviele #OpenData-Anbieter ihre CSV- bzw. JSON-Formate sauber spezifizieren und dokumentieren.

@keineantwort Ja es gibt etliche Implementationen von sowas. Aber ich will nicht glauben dass noch niemand dran gedacht hat, für sowas mal ein standardisiertes Austauschformat zu schaffen. Verstehe nicht dass das im #OpenDocument Kontext nicht stattgefunden hat. Es gibt ein Austauschformat für mathematische Formeln, warum nicht auch für Formulare?! Dann gäbe es das Potenzial dass diese ganzen Tools (LiberaForms, Nextcloud Forms, Form.io, etc.) das gleiche Format im- und exportieren könnten.
Does anyone know if there is an open standard for representing digital #Forms and answers/responses to these forms? I'm wondering why there is no #OpenDocument standard for Forms and responses? Surely someone must have thought about this before?! But I can't find anything online. #FOSS
@fragdenstaat Bei euren Klagevorlagen fehlt ODT als Dateiformat. Das solltet ihr eigentlich bevorzugen.

@DrPen I purposefully choose to use @libreoffice / #LibreOffice equivalents or Straight-up name the file type I want (because If I say #TextDocument I can get anything;from a #txt file to #YADL to #Markdown, #LaTeX, #HTML, #OpenDocument & #PDF depending on who I ask and how they feel like)...
Im Zusammenhang mit meinem ods-reader, einer Java-Bibliothek zum effizienten Lesen von OpenDocument-Tabellen, fragte jemand nach dem Schreiben von ODS-Dateien. Das habe ich mir mal angesehen. Es ist gar nicht so schwer, eine minimale Tabelle zu erstellen

@jsparber It would be great if someone built a very simple GTK4-based word processor on top of libreofficekit. A simple app that can display any LibreOffice document and has basic text-editing features. Together with a minimal clutter-free UI would be great. I'd use it everyday.
LibreOffice would still be for the heavy stuff.
