🎂 Metal Gear Solid was released on June 24, 1999 for the original #PlayStation. A milestone in #stealthgame design and cinematic #storytelling, it set new standards for interactive narrative.

From #PsychoMantis reading your memory card to the emotional final moments of #SniperWolf, #MGS blurred the lines between game and film. Tactical espionage became art.

Later released on #PC, #PSP, #PS3, and as VR Missions, it remains a defining title in the #MetalGearSolid series.

Metal Gear REX.

God damn this was a cool build. I originally thought I'd build maybe a leg tonight, which turned into both legs, then the torso, then the rest of it.

It's a really fantastic and fun build. The upper and lower legs connect via what could be called an "illegal" technique, which reduces the stability and otherwise fantastic posability of the mech.

I also wish you could close the cockpit but it's a small gripe.

Overall if you're a Metal Gear and Lego fan (like me), I'd very much recommend picking up the midi scale Star Wars Millenium Falcon (75375) and grabbing the instructions.

The instructions are available for purchase at Rebrickable - rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-19972

I don't know why anyone would buy the #MetalGearSolid collection (achievements, maybe?!) on #Steam, which still commands such a high price, when you can just emulate the original games at such a nice, crisp high level of textures these days.

You can even run them with Retro Achievements, I do through #RetroDECK often!

It just seems odd to me, rewarding them for doing the bare minimum.

Sonntage.

Ich liebe diese Spielreihe seitdem ich noch net mal alt genug war um das zu zocken und mir das währenddessen weggenommen wurde. Kurz vorm Ende.

Das war böse.

Anyway: Snake Eater Lieblingsteil, bei euch?

The behind the scenes of the English localization of the first Metal Gear Solid game released in 1998 on PlayStation. And one of my favorite video games of all time. Even today, after all these years, it sends chills down my spine!

Considering the working conditions of the guy, it’s quite an achievement.

Some old photos of #HideoKojima and some of the crew behind 1998's classic #gaming title that basically defined the original #Sony #PlayStation - one of my fav games of all time, #MetalGearSolid

This is a nice little time capsule of their desks and working environment, nice for any fans of #RetroGaming here :)

So some absolute genius has discovered you can take the #LEGO set: 31150 (Wild Safari Animals) and turn it into a #gaming icon from #MetalGearSolid - Shagohod

No additional pieces are even required, it just...works?!

I'm still in total disbelief, because I adore MGS as a series, and I'm a true Kojima fan. I hope he sees this, I know he'd love it!!!!

LESETIPP: Battle Gear Solid – Mod-Feature & Interview

I've shared this before, but who am I if not predictably obsessed with the same things on repeat?

This little storm water drain (in my eyes, a waterfall!) in #MetalGearSolid is just a thing of beauty on the #PlayStation

Its the tiny little touches in game design from #RetroGaming that make me happy. They had such constraints to make things work, but would take the time to make something like this in a little corner

Kojima? I love you!
