I don't know what YOU were doing on this date 30 years ago but I was heading up to Glasgow to see the mighty Machine Head (supported by Meshuggah and Mary Beats Jane).
As you can see by the photiegraphs, I attended a signing session earlier in the day where I had Robb Flynn sign my guitar pick with the MH initials. I also had them sign my Old ten incher.
Chris Kontos wasn't present at the session so his signature isn't on my Old ten incher

None of the songs on Machine Head’s new album UNATØNED fully convince me. There are parts in every song that I really like, but they just don’t get under my skin like they used to. Maybe it’s me — maybe I just need to listen to them a few more times.
What do you think?
Gerade #Unatøned von Machine Head (VÖ 25.04.2025) gehört: solides Handwerk, typisch #machinehead Wer härteren Metal mag, wird zufrieden sein. Herausragende Momente fehlen – das Album ist wie Nudeln mit Tomatensauce: geht immer, haut aber niemanden vom Hocker.
Die neue #MachineHead is ok, aber auch nix, was im Kopf bleibt. Etwas viel "Wohoooo", Vorhersehbarkeit und Belangloses für meinen Geschmack. Schade. Überrascht bin ich allerdings von der neuen #Eluveitie. Die macht Bock!
Neue Machine Head ein Mal durchgehört. Durchwachsen aber not bad … hab jedenfalls Bock auf Runde zwei

I gave Machine Head's new album UNATØNED (god a hate that style) a second spin.
Verdict: it makes me say "well alright".

After being kind of disappointed by the new Machine Head I'm listening to their great album "The Blackening"

Phew. #MachineHead is getting a tough review on @angrymetalguy and I’m becoming anxious. I really liked their last album “Of Kingdom And Crown” though.
I dunno what YOU were doing on the 26th of January 1996 but THIS Friday, I was recording myself messing around on the drums at school. If you listen til the end you can hear my old music teacher tell me to "keep it down"
