Woke up with this #song in my head today entitled: #noClue

Guess it's as good a day as any to release it.

Only got permission to put it on Mastodon so no #mirloMondays.
No #artiphon #orba for once either...

Lyrics and vocals by Christina
Production and most keys & all guitar by Mason from #kpl #kitchener public #library
Where at city hall they recorded some 3h of the background #plantMusic
After that it took Mason only 90 minutes to record and edit the song in #LogicPro, which Mason taught an intro to this month.

Synopsis: duck the low end #eq, then add #compression, then adjust the mid&high end.

Follow up on my earlier request for help with a keyboard part. Since my new Mac Studio gives me access to all of Logic’s new AI abilities I decided to try out the Session Keyboard player, & it’s pretty impressive. I was able to alter the keyboard to an electric piano that’s pretty close to the sound of a Fender Rhodes, and while the part is quite different I think it works nicely. Can now start building out all the other tracks, including vocals.

This isn't as egregious as Apple's F1 promotion via Apple Wallet and there are a zillion more important things happening, but Apple has again chosen to spam Logic Pro users.

What's particularly stupid about this is that Apple has all the information it needs to be smarter. Apple knows I bought Logic Pro. It knows what Apple ID that purchase is associated with. It knows there are no iPads associated with that Apple ID. And yet. (I have never owned an iPad; likely never will.)

This ad isn't in response to a new install, upgrade (I'm a version behind because Logic Pro 11.2 broke audio region editing). It's just something Apple is deciding to fling in users faces without consent. Also, note there's no opt-out.

Also, there are spaces around the em-dash like this was written by a committee of three year-old garden gnomes. No offense intended to the broader garden gnome community.

Finally some #upcycling for old #gear: #MOTU UltraLite as digital mixer for rarely used #synths & #groovebox.es (Roland D-10, MC-101, Novation Circuit Tracks) - downmix with optional EQ / Comp > Stereo Input of my almost 20 year old RME Fireface 800 > 8 Stereo Inputs with the other synths > ADAT > RME Babyface FS. Now all outboard stuff can be recorded individually inside #LogicPro.

Now desperately trying to convince myself that more hardware is out of the question, and plugins are just fine.

Wow, is it just me or is editing the leading edges of audio regions completely f*cked in Logic Pro 11.2? Can't touch the beginning of a regions without having it also change the end of (most?) selected regions (usually?) to some random place! And dragging back…slides the region length like a window? WTF?!
