@TeomaHK Nein, ich bin #iOS User und habe ein Pixel 8a als Zweitgerät. (Bevor dies zu meinem Hauptgerät werden kann, muss ich noch auf mein Diensthandy warten. Ich möchte künftig eine klare Trennung zwischen privaten und dienstlichen Apps.)
#LineageOS, #CalyxOS und #eOS könnten evtl. brauchbare Alternativen sein. Kennst du kuketz-blog.de und kuketz-forum.de? Vielleicht findest du da weitere Anregungen.

Ja @herrgruen, mindestens ein vorhandenes Gerät. Bevor ich mich für #GrapheneOS entschied, hatte ich die möglichen alternativen ROM's verglichen. LineageOS schied wegen dem Aufwand und dem fehlenden Verified-Boot aus. Doch diese Kriterien gelten für mein Smartphone. Nicht aber für die anderen Geräte.
Da ich gern auch für Neues offen bin, wäre es möglich, ein Gerät in dieser Richtung einzusetzen und als praktische Grundlage zur Erweiterung meines Wissen zu verwenden. Benutzt Du #LineageOS?

@heiseonline finde ich auch super, das ihr die unbefriedigende Software-Situation am Ende nochmal erwähnt habt. Das hat mich bzgl. Nachhaltigkeit auch sehr stutzig gemacht, wo ich gerade ein neues Handy Suche. Und selbst mit #LineageOS bekommt man dann trotzdem keinen aktuellen Linux kernel drauf. Selbst ein altes Google Pixel 6 (sowie 7-9) läuft zumindest mit einem 6.1er Linux kernel mit LineageOS.

@starlabssystems Workhorse lappy runs #Guix inside #Debian stable because I just can't afford for this not to work. Home server pure Debian stable just because that makes it easy, cloud server pure Guix so that if it gets hacked I can quickly re-image it from scratch and not rely on possibly corrupted backups.

I have some AIOs that I sometimes use as satellite workstations which PXE boot pure Guix and of course mount home directories off the lappy.

Phone is running #lineageos.

Family boxes: Debian (stable, reliable, just works)
LiveUSB: MX (nomadic, works OOTB on any hardware)
Smartphone: LineageOS (much better than Android)
PS: would prefer something fully open/libre (#Guix, #Trisquel, #Parabola, etc.) but some hardware demands blobs...

It appears my Android can do 4G mobile data, but not VoLTE calling. So ... is that a software support limitation? Could installing LineageOS make it VoLTE capable? There seems to have a LineageOS build for it;

The latter of those is specifically #lineageos, whose support channels are incredibly toxic towards anything that can be considered remotely off-topic. Don't let them find out you use universal tools like #twrp, #microg or #magisk, they will *insist* nobody uses them, and you *will* be burned at the stake.

@lara_vm meine Geräte sind alt. Android ist im Vergleich zu Linux oder Windows sehr sicher. Das Hauptproblem von Android ist die Vorinstallierte Spyware. Das löst #lineageOS .
