I wonder why #JetBrains has to raise prices at all. Allegedly they have fantastic AI tools that improve both coding joy and coding efficiency. Couldn't they simply fire 70% of their staff, replace them with AI and actually reduce prices? Or did I get AI wrong?
The “What's New in #IntelliJ #IDEA 2025.2?” session by the amazing devrel team at #Jetbrains has a short section on the newly introduced #SpringModulith support. Still heartbroken that @maritvandijk is team microservices, though. 
Bummed to see that JetBrains is raising subscription pricing, including Rider which I currently use for my side projects.
But, what other choice do I have? Go back to VS Code? Hah, *highly* unlikely.
JetBrains: "You get AI for free!"
Also JetBrains: "We're increasing all our licence prices by 25% whether you want AI or not!"
Heads up: as of 1 October, prices for JetBrains’ products will be going up. For an individual subscription to PhpStorm, this appears to be a $6-$10 price increase depending on the length of your current subscription. They’re offering a three year price lock if you renew right now.

Does anyone think that the AI plugin for #JetBrains is a little spooky? I am writing something that is not super obvious, and i don't i am kinda pacing my way through it, and the #IDE is going nuts, suggesting exactly which lines (sometimes whole blocks) of what i am thinking next.
