Recently have laid off investing but now have returned with a vengeance. Listening to economists on #geopolitics channels have paid off
.
Gold for eg. I was never a fan. But recently got a strangely high dividend pay off and realise that it was from my Gold ETF? Stunned lol.
Not to mention the ETF appreciated by 20% or more in a year.
Also, my COVID buys are paying off. Maybank, a bank share that is always notoriously expensive, I leapt onto when it sank to 7 per share. And I stocked up on SUNREITs.
Anyway, I am a little reluctant to invest in US ETFs now eventhough I know I shouldn't be and should just DCA. The dollar is just whackier by the day and I just don't want to deal with currency exchange pain lol.
Local and Asian shares look more interesting these days. I got some A50 China ETFs just for heck of it.
But kinda want more dividends as I grow older and want deemphasise the capital growth strategy, so may look into more shares.
