#IPv6 people of the fedi, I need your help:
Has anyone ever run an #Github/ #Forgejo/ #Gitea Action successfully with #IPv6 only inside the runner and used the cache?
Context is https://code.forgejo.org/forgejo/runner/issues/733#issuecomment-52593 - it looks like actions/cache and the underlaying nodejs http stack does not support IPv6 literals in the URL, but according to the code it looks like it should.
Am I really the first person running into this topic?
Why #gitea #dotcon on https://unite.openworlds.info
and not #forgejo which is #foss
The move is effortless and tells a better story on what the server is about than through the teeth of a forprofit corporation hiding behind a FOSS curtain
I'm adding gitea actions to my #homelab #gitea install and I plan to use it to deploy web projects to a cloud server, probably using sftp. Anybody have any experience? What should I know? #GiteaActions

Concerning other projects less known than kernel I would have to talk with each contributor to find his motivation (and with all due respect, I know too little about Codeberg … we still stick with #Gitea https://github.com/openSUSE/openSUSE-git/issues/36). It could be very interesting to ask.
I finally enabled #Cloudflare proxy for https://git.nicelycomposed.codes
The reason it was disabled was a large file upload limitation on Cloudflare's free tier. I was not able to push large #Docker images to the registry on #Gitea instance.
Now I have a local #DNS record for the Gitea instance pointing directly to the #Zoraxy reverse proxy by its local IP address. So, when my CI jobs push images, the data bypasses Cloudflare's proxy with its limitations.
AI crawlers, on the other hand, are blocked by Cloudflare.
My #Proxmox node should become cooler now.
And yes, whoever uses #discord for #documentation and #versioning instead of a goddam #git [doesn't have to be @github / #GitHub or @gitlab / #GitLab or @Codeberg / #Codeberg or even @gitea / #Gitea - just use any git
and write down your documentation in a useable format like #Markdown or goddamn ASCII plain text FFS] should be banned for life from #coding, working in #IT or contribute to #FLOSS.
We’re excited to announce the release of Gitea v1.24.3!

Hi, I set up an Gitea server on my servers in the EU powered by my own solar power and I want to share it with you. You can upload your repository there or mirror it or help me to mirror major repos there. Feel free to use it as well for your projects.
Ok, time to deploy Anubis in front of Gitea, I'm done with those FAANG oligarchs scraping my repos 24/7 to check if anything changed...
F*ck off.
But that also means Gitea might get unstable for some time, woops

@j12t Despite its past friendliness to the open-source community, I’ve been hearing that #gitlab now has a stronger commercial focus.
While #activiypub doesn’t align with that revenue growth, AI integration does:

At #fosdem 2025, I heard many communities appreciate #forgejo and #codeberg as embodying what the open-source world had hoped to get from #gitlab and #gitea.
As far as I know, #forgejo is committed to implementing federation, which is already a feature in development:
