had a very strange error on my lenovo ideabook with opensuse. Refused to boot. nvme was not found. Solved by booting with installer, cancel installation and reboot. works again.
Don't buy a Yoga Ideabook. A really bad machine. Waiting for my #framework12 to be produced (batch 7).
@frameworkcomputer Found it: It's on the configuration page. When you open the details behind the processors, it shows that currently batch 1 has been shipped and batches 2-6 are planned for July.
New blog post, on the joys of hackable tech and the new Framework 12: 'The Framework 12 is the Thinkpad X220 we deserve in 2025'
I wished @frameworkcomputer would offer a clear / transparent cased #Framework12 or #Framework13 option.
Cuz even stuff like a prison laptop uses metal shields to comply with EMI regulations...
Does someone now if the #framework12 from @frameworkcomputer already started shipping? And if so which batch currently ships?
Just asking because I am eagerly waiting for mine.

This would be a pretty good alternative to #apple hardware #mac and #ipad, I guess.
Such a device running a #linux OS might be a thing for me in a few years ... :-) #macos #ios
Interesting look at the @frameworkcomputer 12, by Tech-YouTuber JerryRigEverything.

That Bubblegum colored one is
@arstechnica propblem is that @frameworkcomputer / @framework / #Framework doesn't offer the #Framework12 with Stylus right now not even as #preorder...
Ohi, @FreeCAD!
I have prepared a VESA mount for the upcoming @frameworkcomputer 12 convertible notebook computer. Still waiting for the exact measurements, though.
Two halves will probably be printed from medium or hard TPU to provide a mixture of stability and flexibility. A metal bracket added for extra security.
Ooooo, the new framework 12 inch looks like an opensource Surface and I'm very here for it. I love all the colors, especially the bubble gum and lavender! It's a tablet too, so I could use it to replace my ipad when it finally stops getting security updates. They're even going to have a stylus and its fully repairable. This is very tempting to invest in possibly as soon as next year depending on when my updates for my 2018 ipad 11-inch stop.

Changed my WSL distro from Debian to @fedora. I'm really starting to like it, and if I get the @frameworkcomputer 12, it would be the distro I choose.
All I had to do was install the fonts, and my Emacs config worked first time. I'm starting to love Emacs, and the troubleshooting of the config has renewed my passion for coding.
@jbqueru Also I hope for #RISCv to be the #ISA of the future for long-term #OpenSourceHardware and support.
#ARM64 - just like #amd64 - is yet another proprietary ISA and almost all devices with it in terms of #Laptops have #AntiRepairDesign like #Apple's #MacBook|s that self-destroy their #SSD|s which also contains it's #EFI / "#BridgeOS", making machines with fried SSDs 'braindead'…
And yes, #RAM to also fails and making it not fully replaceable and upgradeable is inherently bad and I'm still mad at @frameworkcomputer for their botched #FrameworkDesktop #PC!
I've pre-ordered a Framework 12 for my wife, because she's irritated with her MacBook Air almost daily. I'll put Linux Mint on it if she goes through with the order, which will make her life easier (and let her play her Steam games). It might even replace the iPad whose battery is starting to die, depending on how good the FW12's battery is while playing video.
The MacBook Air will basically pay for the Framework 12 when we resell it.

I mean, I'd not have any issues with a "shitty" #Netbook if it's prized acceptable.
Cuz then I might be better off buying a used #ThinkPad with #USBc, remove the dead battery and stap a Powerbank to it.
Tho I'd rather start the #NUCbook project instead or buy a @frameworkcomputer / #Framework12 instead...
I'm really simping over the new #Framework12 Laptop with touch screen & stylus.
Currently I use a X220 with 8 GB RAM and transferring drawings and reference images to me old Microsoft Surface via USB.
The X220 is already failing and tbh I feel like my usual strategy of "waiting til there's a second hand market" won't work with this product.
How are your experiences with #framework computers so far?
I currently use small Surface Go ("Tablet") running Linux, and more often than not I am annoyed by the kickstand. So seriously considering the new #framework12.
